The Faces of Illstorp

The Faces of Illstorp is a year-long project dedicated to the people who shaped my childhood in the small village of Illstorp, Sweden.

This project follows ten different subjects photographed in their homes and gardens. This group of people come from wildly diverse backgrounds: politics, sustainable agriculture, teaching, engineering, theatre, fine art, architecture, and international development. And yet, they are all creative and artistic people whose unique homes are a clear reflection of who they are.

Throughout the story, we are introduced to each character and are given a small glimpse into their lives.

The Divine Feminine

In March of 2024 I exhibited my project, The Divine Feminine, in Edinburgh at Agitate Gallery for 2 weeks in a group show titled Sága alongside four other fantastic photographers.

This project is an exploration of the relationship between women and Mother Nature. Inspired by Scandinavian fairy tales and the story-telling tradition of ancient Celtic and Nordic folklore, the work follows seasons and cycles through fine art photography created in Scotland and Sweden. It was created as an ode to the divinity and magic that connects women to the earth - the land, water, flora, and fauna.

we were girls together

We were girls together. Now we are women together.

Growing up, my sister and I were best friends. When I was 16, my older sister Linnea moved to Paris to start her new life at University. I felt abandoned and alone, it was like losing a piece of myself. She was navigating her life away from home, and I was navigating my life at home without her.

These images of Linnea tell the story of my perspective of sisterhood when I visited her for a week in Paris. The photos go alongside an interview I conducted with Linnea about her perspective of sisterhood, growing up together, and her current life in Paris.

Stripped Down

The purpose of Stripped Down is to emphasize the natural and classical beauty of the human body, and to highlight the rawness, realness, and inherent beauty that each and every one of us have as an ode to classical sculptures and paintings.

I wanted to create this project emphasizing representation through the female gaze. The focus is on seeing the subject as having agency over their own body. There is nothing submissive or meek about the models in these photos; they all have a sense of power and confidence, even in their states of vulnerability.
